Celebrating 45 years in the denim game, Studio D’Artisan tap into Japan’s appreciation for the changes that occur during the four seasons with their latest “Ai-Sa” Collection. Japanese people have historically expressed love for the natural beauty of the mountains and fields in poetry, art and song, while also dyeing and wearing garments using the colors derived from plants, roots, and flowers. This form of dyeing is known as Kusakizome and is still a very much practiced method of dyeing to this day.

Studio D'Artisan has embraced this heritage by deriving a natural dye from Sakura tree bark in order to create a lightish pink hue that is present in this proprietary 15oz. denim development. Showcasing the stunning possibilities of naturally derived dyes from plants, SDA’s latest denim venture represents a harmonious blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary fashion, bringing the gentle beauty of Japan's natural landscapes into everyday wear.
